Garmin forerunner 55 features
The 42micrometres casing of the Garmin Forerunner 55 includes five buttons arranged circumferentially, offering it a look very similar to the Forerunner 45. Furthermore, it has the same 208 × 208 resolution color memory-in-pixel display. Through the watch's settings menu, you may select a variety of face designs, and you can download additional ones from the Garmin Connect IQ store.
The Forerunner 55 is exclusively offered with a 42mm case, in contrast to the Forerunner 45. It strikes a good balance between someone being big enough to display a respectable amount of detail and tiny enough to not overwhelm smaller wrists. It comes with a single silicone strap that has been perforated throughout its whole length to fit the broadest range of wrist sizes conceivable.
The USB-A charging cord provided by Garmin is used to charge it.
The Forerunner 55 weighs 37g, which makes it slightly lighter than both Forerunner 45 models, however, the difference is minimal during running. We quickly forgot we were wearing the watch as it is comfy and lightweight.
The watch has a glass case made of chemically reinforced plastic that is available in black, white, or aqua. Gorilla glass is used in higher-end Garmin watches, but the business has kept costs down by using a less expensive substitute.
Thoughtfully created as a first running watch, it is straightforward. There is no touchscreen, similar to the Forerunner 45. Instead, two buttons on the left-hand side are used to scroll up and down. You can choose the current option by pressing the top-right button, and the bottom-left button will take you to the previous one.
For a very long time, Garmin has been a mainstay in the low-end running watch industry. The incredibly popular Forerunner 35 from 2016 is still worn today. However, there is fresh competition in that market, and Garmin needs to keep refining its winning formula to keep up with upstart competitors like Coros.
The Garmin Forerunner 55 is over here. This reasonably priced running watch improves on the Forerunner 45 in a few major ways. To find out how the new Garmin Forerunner 55 compares to the fierce competition, read our whole review.
